Here we showcase you new carrier for motorbikes for the Landrover Defender (all versions). Motorbikes or Scooters up to 160 kg can be safely attached to your Defender to avoid pulling a trailer and having to follwo the speed limit of 80 km/h in Germany.
Generally you have two options:
- We deliver all parts plus a mounting user guide to your address. Attaching this carrier to your Defender may need half an hour for an experienced person.
- You visit our garage in Viersen (west Germany) and we attach the carrier directly to your Defender.
The solid carrier rests are directly bolted to the chassis of the Defender. The carrier itself is then pushed into these carriers and secured with four M10 screws. Included are some rails for the motorbike and a ramp for loading as well as two atachable supports for the carrier. All steel parts are electrogalvanized.
Dimensions:
Length (or depth) of carrier: 40cm, Wideness 180 cm. Six heavy eyes are attached for securing your load. A loading ramp made from alloy is attached with two 10mm screws behind the lamp plate.
Important: There must be a 7 or 13 pin plug (for trailers) available on your Defender for the electrical connection to the additional lamps on the carrier. There is no need for an actual trailer hook, the carrier is directly mounted to the chassis of the car.
It is recommended to let the TÜV check the attached carrier after mounting. On demand we can perform this check in our garage in Viersen for 70,- Euros. The TÜV will add an entry with 160 kg max. load to your Defender’s papers.
For mounting (30 min) plus TÜV check we need approx. 3-4 hours, dates need to be arranged upfront. WE a re looking forward to your inquiry..
